Easter, 2002

Easter in the Bulgarian Orthodox Church (as in all Orthodox churches) occurred the first Sunday of May this year. We gathered at Nicky's house, where he roasted a lamb on his father-in-law's electric spit, with Nasko's improvements.

Easter for the Catholic/Protestant churches was March 31st this year, and we visited Rob's folks on the MN/SD border. There was still a fair bit of snow that was melting, giving a bit of mud and ice-topped mud puddles for Philip (and Rob) to play with. Philip also liked it? when he was captured by Grandpa.

Christmas 2001 and New Year's 2002

Everybody's happy in front of the Christmas tree.

Philip listens to Christmas music, and his favorite activity is drilling holes in the styrofoam with his new toy drill.

Most of the guests are sitting at the table for the Christmas Eve/Philip's 3rd birthday party.

More guests, and finally Philip himself.

Here comes the year 2002! Dancing in the New Year with the Bulgarian "hora".

Some more noise-makers, and they're blowing little plastic horns too...
